Add Connector to Project

Add Connector to Project

Overview

This section lets you add connectors to your project. A single wizard guides you through adding the desired connector. The same wizard also enables you to add automation. In the second step of the wizard, you need to select the entity type. Depending on the entity you choose, subsequent steps will be shown.

Step 1 - Start Add Entity Wizard

  1. Go to the Project module.
  2. To add an asset, click on the 'Add' button in the action area. This will initiate the Add Asset Wizard.

Step 2 - View Wizard Introduction

  1. Once the Add Asset wizard is initiated, a pop-up will appear titled 'Introduction'.
  2. The screen provides you with an overview of the Add Asset wizard. This will help you understand what is to come.
  3. Before adding details to the wizard, please get familiar with some standard icons and their usage.
  4. The screen is divided into two segments:
    1. Information Area:
      1. You can find detailed instructions and information for each step in the information area.
      2. Reading these before filling in the details on the screen is recommended to ensure accuracy.
      3. Furthermore, there's an icon that allows you to collapse the information bar, thereby increasing the available working area for the content.
      4. Click the icon to collapse the bar, and then click it again to return to normal.
    2. Content Area:
      1. The content area is where all actions must be performed on the screen.
      2. The screen title is located in the top left corner, under 'Current Step'. Currently, it displays an 'Introduction'.
      3. On the top right corner, you will find the 'Completed' drop-down, which lists all the completed steps. Since you haven't completed any steps, '0' is displayed. Completed steps will be added to the drop-down as you progress through the wizard. To return to a previously completed step, select it from the drop-down menu.
      4. A progress bar is placed below the screen title, which displays the wizard's progress status. The progress bar also indicates the total number of steps and the current step you are working on. For instance, if the total number of steps is six and you are on the first step, the progress bar will display 1/6.
      5. An image of the entire wizard process is displayed in the working area of the screen.
      1. A toggle button labeled 'Show every time' is located at the bottom-right corner of the screen. Disabling the toggle button will prevent the Introduction screen from appearing whenever you initiate the Add System Wizard. However, if you decide to enable the toggle button, you will be able to see the Introduction screen every time you start the Add System Wizard. This means that the Introduction screen will be skipped if you have disabled the 'Show every time' button.

Step 3 - Select Entity Type

  1. On this screen, you need to make a selection whether you want to add a Connector or Automation to your project.
  2. Please select the asset type you want to add to your project in this step. You will see two cards on the screen:
    1. Connector
    2. Automation
  3. Based on the asset type selection, the further screens will appear.
  4. To select the asset type, click on the respective cards. The section entity card will be highlighted, and the 'Next Step' button will be enabled.
  5. If you want to cancel the wizard at any point, click the 'Cancel' button. This will cancel the wizard and take you to the Project home screen.
  6. To return to the previous step, click the 'Previous Step' button.

  1. Please select the Add Connector tile.
  2. The 'Next Step' button is disabled by default, but will be enabled once you select an asset type. Click on the enabled 'Next Step' button to continue.
  3. If you want to cancel the wizard at any point, click the 'Cancel' button. This will cancel the wizard and take you to the Project home screen.
  4. To return to the previous step, click the 'Previous Step' button.

Step 4 - Select Connector

  1. Please select the connector you want to configure in this step. You will see a list of already installed connectors to choose from.
  2. To help you find the right connector, search and connector type filter options are available on the screen.
  3. The corresponding results will appear instantly when you start typing a name into the search field.
  4. You can also use the 'Type' filter to search for a particular connector. Choose the appropriate option from the drop-down list, such as Accounting connector, to display all related connectors.
  5. If you cannot find the connector you are searching for after applying the filters, you can choose the options provided below at the bottom of the screen.
    1. The first option, 'Get from the marketplace', allows you to select your desired connector from the marketplace.
    2. The second option, 'Create Your Own Connector', allows you to create your own connector and directs you to the Connector Designer screen.
    3. The third option, 'Ask the Community for Support', allows you to seek help from the OneEnterprise community. You will be directed to our community portal, where you can post your queries and receive assistance.
    4. Select the appropriate option by clicking on the desired button. After clicking the desired button, you will be directed to the respective screen.
  6. To select, click on the desired connector; that row will be highlighted.
  7. If you want to cancel the wizard at any point, click the 'Cancel' button. This will cancel the wizard and take you to the project home screen.
  8. To return to the previous step, click the 'Previous Step' button.
  9. Next Step:
    1. The 'Next Step' button is disabled by default, but will be enabled once you select a connector.
    2. Click on the enabled 'Next Step' button to continue.

Step 5 - Publish Object(s)

  1. In this step, select the objects from the chosen connector that you wish to publish.
  2. A list of the connector objects will be displayed on the screen.
  3. Each object is depicted with a separate band. Within each band, you will observe the object name defined in OneEnterprise alongside the connector object name.
  4. You may select the object from the list that you intend to publish for the connector, thereby allowing other connectors to subscribe to it.
  5. To select an object, click on its corresponding band, which will then be highlighted.
  6. Multiple objects can be selected manually. Alternatively, to select all objects in the list, click on the 'Select All' button.
  7. Should you wish to cancel the wizard at any stage, click on the 'Cancel' button, which will terminate the wizard and direct you to the system's home screen. To revert to the previous step, click on the 'Previous Step' button.
  8. Next Step:
    1. The 'Next Step' button is enabled by default.
    2. Click on the enabled 'Next Step' button to continue.

Step 6 - Adding Connector

  1. After you click the "Next Step" button, the Adding Connector screen will appear, and you can relax while we handle all the backend work for you.
  2. Once all the settings are configured, a confirmation message will appear on the screen.
  3. Click the Close button to exit the screen.

  1. The newly added connector to the project is listed.
