Overview
This article describes how to set up and modify an object's connection configuration. Using this functionality, you can configure the object's connection details or update existing configurations.
- In the Interaction View, select the connection line between the entities.
- The connection details appear in the Network tab with a menu of options below the details card.
- Select the Edit Configuration band.

Edit Configuration
- After you select the Edit Configuration band, the following screen appears.
- The screen displays a list of published objects between the entities.
- The screen offers two modes for object configuration:
- A toggle at the top-right corner switches between these modes.
- By default, Configuration mode opens. In this mode, set the flow directions of the object for the data you want.
- Note: The header color indicates the connection status: green = Active, orange = Warning, red = Alert.

Configuration View
- The Configuration View opens by default.
- The screen displays the list of published objects between the entities. Each object appears on a separate band.
- The flow direction icon indicates no flow is configured for the object. Once configured, the band displays the flow direction.

- Select the band to expand it and display the flow directions for the object.
- The object may support unidirectional or bidirectional data flow. Based on the supported flow direction, the options display on the band.
- If the object supports bidirectional flow, two bands display — one for A to B and one for B to A. If it supports unidirectional flow, only one band displays.
- Select the flow direction band to highlight it. You can select one or both directions. Select Save to save the configuration.

- After collapsing the band, the chosen flow direction appears on the band.

- Select the Activation tab to activate the configured object.
Activation
- After configuring the object in Configuration View, select Activation to switch to activation mode.
- Partially Active: May appear on objects that support bidirectional flow where one direction is active and the other is inactive.
- Inactive: Displays on objects with no pending configurations that are ready for activation.
- Configuration Required: Displays on objects with pending configurations. You must complete the pending configuration before activating. Select the band to go to the screen where the configuration is required.

- Select the object band to expand it.

Objects with Pending Configuration
- After expanding the object, you may find that one flow direction is ready for activation and the other has a pending configuration.
- You can activate the ready direction immediately. To activate the pending one, complete its configuration first.
- You have two options to complete the pending configuration:
- Exit the Edit Configuration screen and go to object settings to update the pending settings. Then return to activate the object.
- Select the band to go to the pending configuration, complete it, then return to activate the object.
- Select the flow direction band.

- The Configuration Required dialog appears. Select Yes to go to the pending configuration.

- The object settings screen opens. An errors icon indicates which system has the pending setting.
- Open the relevant section and complete the configuration. Select the back icon to return to the Edit Configuration screen.

Activate Object
- The screen displays a list of configured objects. Use the search field to find an object by name, or use the filter drop-down (All, Active, Inactive) to filter by status.
Note: An object with a pending configuration cannot be marked Active until the configuration is complete. When the Inactive filter is applied, such objects display alongside inactive objects.

- Select the band to expand the object.

- Once expanded, you can set the status of each data flow direction to Active or Inactive, and enable or disable Trace for each flow.
Note: If an object has two flow directions but only one was selected in Configuration View, only that direction displays here. For example, if Object 1 supports A-B and B-A and only A-B was selected in Configuration mode, only A-B appears in Activation mode.

- Each flow direction appears on a separate band with its own controls.
- You can configure the status of each flow individually — both Active, or one Active and one Inactive. If one flow is Active and the other Inactive, the band displays Partially Active.
- Select the drop-down and choose Active.

- When all objects are activated, the band displays Active.

Configure Trace
- A Trace switch is provided on every band. You can enable trace for each flow individually.
- Select the switch to enable tracing.
Note: If you enable trace for both flows, the overall trace status shows as active on the band. If trace is enabled for one flow and disabled for the other, the overall status on the band shows as disabled.

- When tracing is enabled for all objects, the band displays the trace status.

Deactivate Object
- When you change a status from Active to Inactive, a Deactivate dialog appears.

- Select No to close the dialog and keep the current status unchanged.
- Select Yes to close the dialog and mark the selected flow as Inactive.
