Edit Configuration

Edit Configuration

Overview

This article provides the details to set up the connection. Using this functionality, you can configure the object's connection details or modify the existing configurations.
  1. Once you are on the Interaction view, click on the 'connection line' between the entities.
  2. After clicking the connection lines, the connection details will be shown on the Network tab, and a menu of options will be provided below the details card.
  3. Click on the Edit Configuration band.

Edit Configuration

  1. Once you click the Edit Configuration band, the following screen will appear.
  2. The screen will display a list of published objects between the entities.
  3. The screen offers two modes for object configuration:
    1. Configuration
    2. Activation
  4. A toggle button is located at the top right corner of the screen. You can switch between these modes by clicking on the switch.
  5. By default, the configuration mode will be open. In this mode, you need to set the flow directions of the object for which you want the data.
  6. Please note that the header screen color indicates the connection status. For example, active, warning, and alert will be shown in green, orange, and red, respectively.

Configuration View

  1. By default, the Configuration View will be open.
  2. The screen will display the list of published objects between the entities.
  3. Each object is represented on a separate band.
  4. The flow direction icon indicates that no flow is configured for the object.
  5. Once configured, the band will start displaying the flow direction.

  1. Upon clicking, the band will expand and display the flow directions of the object.
  2. The object may support unidirectional or bidirectional data flow. Based on the supported flow direction, the flow direction will be shown on the band.
  3. If the object supported bidirectional data flow, you would see two bands: one representing flow from entity A to entity B, and the other from entity B to entity A. If the object supported unidirectional data flow, only one band would be displayed.
  4. To select any of the flow directions, click on the band, and it will be highlighted. You are allowed to choose both directions or any of the directions.
  5. Click on the Save button to save the configurations.
  6. Once you collapse the band, the chosen flow direction will be visible on the band.

  1. Once you collapse the band, the chosen flow direction will be visible on the band.
  2. Now move to the Activation tab to activate the configured object.

Activation

  1. Once you have configured the object in the Configuration View, click on Activation to switch to the enable mode.
  2. A label 'Partially Active' may appear on some objects. This will only show for objects that support bidirectional data flow, where one flow direction is active and the other is inactive.
  3. Objects that do not have any pending configurations and are ready for activation will display an 'Inactive' label.
  4. There may be an object that displays pending configurations. If any configuration is awaiting setup for an object, a "Configuration Required" label will appear in the band. To activate the object, you must first complete the pending configuration. If you click on the band labeled with "Configuration Required", it will direct you to the screen where the configuration is required.

  1. Click on the object band to expand the section.

Objects with Pending Configuration

  1. Once you expand the object, there might be a scenario where one flow direction is ready for activation and the other is pending configuration.
  2. In such cases, you can activate the ready direction. To activate the one with a pending configuration, you must first complete the configuration.
  3. You have two options to configure the pending object:
    1. Exit the Edit Configuration screen and go to object settings to update the pending settings. Configure all the object settings, then return to activate the object.
    2. The OneEnterprise provides you with the functionality on the band that, upon clicking on it, directs you to the pending configuration where you can complete it and then return to activate the object flow.
  4. Click on the flow direction band.

  1. When you click the band, the 'Configuration Required' pop-up will show up.
  2. Click the 'Yes' button on the pop-up; it will redirect you to the pending configuration.
  1. Once you are directed to the respective object settings screen, you will notice the errors icon, which indicates under which system the setting is pending.
  2. Open the relevant section and complete the configuration.
  3. After finishing the configurations, click on the back icon to return to the Edit Configuration screen.

Activate Object

  1. The screen displays a list of configured objects.
  2. A search is provided to search for the object by name.
  3. Similarly, you can also segregate the objects based on their status using the filter. You can use the options provided in the filter drop-down, such as all, active, and inactive.
  4. A Filter is provided to view the active, inactive, and all objects that are configured. The filter drop-down will offer the following values:
    1. All
    2. Active
    3. Inactive
Notes
Please note that if any object has a pending configuration, it cannot be marked as active unless the pending configuration is completed. If the Inactive filter is applied, it will be displayed along with the inactive object, as it is currently in an inactive state.

  1. Click on the band to activate the object.

  1. Once the object is expanded, you can mark each data flow direction status as Active or Inactive and enable or disable the Trace for the selected data flow.
Notes
If an object possesses two flow directions and only one is selected in Configuration View, then the selected flow direction will be presented on this screen. The flow direction that has not been assigned will not be displayed here. For instance, Object 1 possesses two flow directions, A-B and B-A. If the A-B direction is selected in the Configuration mode, only the A-B direction will be displayed for Object 1 in the Activation mode.

  1. Each flow direction will be represented on a separate band, and each band is provided its controls.
  2. You can configure the status of each flow individually.
  3. You can set the status to either active or inactive using the drop-down options. You may mark both flows as active, or you can set one as active and the other as inactive. If you set one flow to active and another to inactive, the overall status on the band will be displayed as Partially Active.
  4. Click on the drop-down menu and select the "Active" option.
  1. Once all the objects are activated, the band will display the label as 'Active'.

Configure Trace

  1. A Trace switch is provided on every band. You can enable the trace for each flow individually.
  2. Click the switch to enable tracing.
Notes
If you enable trace for both flows, the overall trace status will be shown as active on the band. If you enable trace for one flow and disable the other flow, the overall status on the band will be displayed as disabled.

  1. Once tracing is enabled for all objects, the band will display the status.

Deactivate Object

  1. Whenever you attempt to change the status from active to inactive, a "Deactivate" pop-up will appear.

  1. If you click the No button, the pop-up will close, and the current status will remain unchanged.
  2. If you click the Yes button, the pop-up will close, and the drop-down for the selected flow will be marked as inactive.
